COUNSELLING IN THE COTSWOLDS AND ONLINE

Hello, I'm Yut.

If you’ve found my website you probably need someone to talk to. I’m here to listen.

Perhaps you’re going through something really tough right now, figuring out a big life change, trying to make sense of your past, or just feeling a little lost. Whatever it is that’s brought you here, I provide a warm, supportive, and accepting space for you to share what’s on your mind.

About Me

I'm a fully qualified counsellor and registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I offer face-to-face sessions in Stroud and Cirencester, and online sessions for those further afield.

I know from my own experiences of therapy how powerful it can be to speak without fear of judgement. Whatever it is you’re bringing to counselling my focus will be on building a trusting, honest relationship, ensuring you feel comfortable to share and allowing us to explore even your most difficult thoughts.

Prior to qualifying as a counsellor, I worked internationally for many years as a facilitator and meditation and mindfulness teacher. This experience not only deeply shaped my own personal growth, but has lent me the ability to connect with clients from all backgrounds and walks of life. As such, I am committed to offering a safe space where diverse experiences and identities are both welcomed and valued.

Who I Work With

I work with adults of all ages and from all walks of life, who bring a wide range of issues to the therapy room. Whilst every client is different, I work often with those experiencing anxiety and overwhelm, stress and trauma, loneliness and isolation, low self-confidence, loss of purpose, relationship issues, and grief of all kinds.

My first-hand experiences and identity as a person of colour mean I am uniquely suited to supporting those experiencing challenges related to:

  • Experiences of racism
  • Cultural and racial identity
  • Intercultural / interracial relationships and families
  • International living and working (‘culture shock’)
  • Repatriation / reintegration following time abroad (‘reverse culture shock’)
  • Cultural and spiritual disconnect

I am also particularly interested to work with those navigating big life changes, especially the transition into parenthood.

My Approach

As a person-centred counsellor, I trust in every person’s ability to grow. I believe that you can find your way forward to a future of clarity, self-acceptance, and fulfilment, but I also know this isn’t always easy. My role is to walk alongside you on that journey, respecting your pace while offering compassionate support and gentle challenge.

In our sessions I may occasionally ask questions, or reflect back to you what I’ve heard. I am able to draw on various therapeutic theories to offer bespoke support, and am able to bring my skills as a meditation and mindfulness practitioner into the therapy room if appropriate.

Lastly, I should let you know that I can’t give you answers. I won’t suggest solutions or tell you what to do. What I will do is work collaboratively with you to peel back layers, helping you to unlock patterns, make sense of your emotions, and identify your way forward.
